It is with great honour and enthusiasm that I invite you to join us for the 14th Romtransplant Congress, to be held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from 16 to 18 October 2026.

This edition holds special symbolic significance – it marks the return of Romtransplant to Cluj-Napoca, the city that hosted the very first edition of the congress in 1998. We proudly continue a legacy that began even earlier, in 1992, with the first kidney transplant performed in Cluj, an achievement that laid the foundations for modern transplantation in Romania.

Over nearly three decades, the Romtransplant Congress has become the main platform for exchange, collaboration, and innovation within the Romanian and international transplant communities. The 2026 edition will bring together leading experts, surgeons, and scientists from across Europe and beyond to share advances, address challenges, and shape the future of organ transplantation.

Our city, with a vibrant mix of tradition and progress, beautifully captures the spirit of our congress – celebrating the pioneers who established Romanian transplantation, while embracing the new horizons of science, ethics, and sustainability.
